Rochester Avenue Apartments creates a beautiful and supportive living environment for formerly homeless and former psychiatric residents. The new residence will allow many people living in shelters or state-run facilities to return to the community and live meaningful lives.
Butler Woodcrafters congratulates “Community Access” the recipient this year of the “Supportive Housing Project Champion Award”
This national award given by Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) recognizes Community Access for its cutting edge supportive housing and social services programs and in particular, their newest affordable housing program at 1854 Cedar Avenue in the Bronx. Butler provided the furnishings for 55 Supportive Housing Apartments for formerly homeless individuals with psychiatric disabilities. We are proud to be an affinity partner with CSH.
Here is a photo that was taken recently at the SUNY New Paltz campus in New York. This was the largest installation to date of our new Links Seating group. The flexibility of the furniture design allows for free-form groupings of seating and tables to accommodate various student needs as they arise.
Greenhope Services for Women (www.greenhope.org) will open Kandake House, a substance abuse treatment center and alternative to incarceration residence in May 2011. Kandake House will be home to 72 women, including 28 women with children, as well as Greenhope administrative offices. Butler Woodcrafters furnished their lounges, bedrooms and seating areas.
We are pleased to announce that Butler Woodcrafters has been accepted as the furniture vendor for New York State Association for Retarded Citizens, NYSARC. This agency has over 55 statewide ARCs as members. We look forward to meeting the members at the NYSARC, Inc. Annual Convention in October.
Butler Woodcrafters recently sponsored a “Bed Bug Seminar” organized by The Supportive Housing Network of New York (SHNNY) and attended by a standing room only group of over 110 Supportive Housing Professionals. The seminar topic presented was how to prevent and eliminate bed bugs by professionals in the extermination and housing fields.

We would like to Congratulate Wagner College…. Wagner College’s Foundation Hall has won two distinctions in the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce 49th Annual Building Awards Program: an Excellence Award for Exterior and Natural Beauty, and an Achievement Award for Interior and Interior Decorating. All the common area lounges were furnished using Butler Woodcrafters’ recently introduced “Butler d/s Series”, a new collection of upscale upholstery and tables.
At the MACUHO Annual Conference in October, Butler was recognized as the 2009-2010 Vendor of the Year.

NYS Office of Alcohol & Substance Abuse Services selected Butler to provide all of their mattresses and beds to their agencies throughout NYS as preventative measures against bed bugs, due to our mattresses and studio beds being bed bug resistant.
